Motor Homes Vs. The Camper Or 5th Wheels
There are many differences when it comes to motor homes and campers or 5th wheels.
One of the main issues is the insurance, obviously the insurance on a motor home is going to be somewhat higher but you’d really rather prefer it this way considering the motor home is more expensive.
That in fact, is the next thing that is different, the cost between a motor home and a camper or 5th wheel.
Let’s see, with a motor home, you don’t have the worry of hauling it around. With a camper or a 5th wheel you need to have a truck or something of that nature to pull it.
Along with this, you have to manually hook the camper or 5th wheel up to the truck, as with a motor home you do not.
Although campers and 5th wheels are still selling, motor homes are selling more now than they used to.
Yet, in all fairness and comparison, in most cases the camper or 5th wheel that you are hauling will give you better gas mileage than that of a motor home. However, with the newer models of motor homes coming out, the mileage could be considered almost the same.
Most motor homes come with a generator built into the side of the motor home hidden behind a panel that you can access on the outside of the motor home, while in many cases with a camper or a 5th wheel the generator must be purchased separately.
If you were to go to an RV park or a camping area it is most likely you will actually see more motor homes than you will campers and 5th wheels now. There are advantages to both and disadvantages to both, however the motor home seems to be more convenient and more popular than they used to be. While you still see campers and 5th wheels being sold they aren’t selling as fast as motor homes today.
