Motor Homes Are Safer Than Campers If You Are Caught In A Storm
If you are out camping somewhere and it happens that a storm is upon you, which would definitely be a misfortune for anyone, the ultimate decision is that a motor home is much safer than a camper would be.
Although there are several reasons why, and no one really wants to be in the path of a storm it is true.
For instance if you have time, you can unhook whatever things are needed and drive away from the storm to a safer area with a motor home, whereas a camper if it is not initially still connected to the truck, you must ultimately connect the camper to the truck and unhook what needs to, and then try to leave the area to a safer place. This takes so much longer than it does with a motor home obviously.
Another point that should be made, is that a lot of times people will unhook the camper from the truck so the camper will be in a sense level. If the truck sits higher or lower than the camper.
You again, don’t have this problem with a motor home. You simply park and put the emergency brake on and you are done, with the exception of some people scotching the tires.
However, in the middle of the night a violent storm arises with gusting winds and heavy rain, maybe in some areas around you there are even tornado warnings around, the motor home is going to be safer simply because it is heavier and can withstand more than a camper, especially if the camper isn’t connected to the truck.
The best thing to do is get into the bathroom of the motor home, if there is no one to get out of the area.
Research proves that in most instances more damage is done to campers than to motor homes during a storm and they are caught in the midst of it.
So ultimately motor homes are safer that campers if you do have to go through a storm of some kind.
